Privacy Policy

Effective Date: July 2, 2026  •  Last Updated: July 2, 2026

1. Who This Applies To

This Privacy Policy explains how The Femme Book LLC (“THE FEMME Book,” “we,” “us”) collects, uses, stores, and shares information from vendors, customers, and visitors to THE FEMME Book platform (the “Platform”). It applies regardless of gender, business ownership type, or buyer category. It does not apply to third-party sites linked from the Platform.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide

  • Account information: name, email, phone number, password.
  • Vendor application data: business name, category, service area, pricing, credentials, badge attestations, uploaded media.
  • Customer activity: reviews, ratings, video submissions, shout-out posts, saved vendors.
  • Payment information: processed directly by our payment processor. THE FEMME Book does not store full card numbers.

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

  • Device and usage data: IP address, browser type, pages viewed, time on Platform.
  • Cookies and similar technologies, used for authentication, preference storage, and basic analytics.

2.3 Information From Third Parties

If you sign in or interact with the Platform through a connected third-party service, we may receive basic profile information from that service as permitted by your settings there.

3. How We Use Information

  • Operate vendor listings, search, and the review system.
  • Process membership applications, founding tier caps, and payments.
  • Send transactional communications: account confirmations, application status, payment receipts.
  • Send marketing communications, only where you have opted in.
  • Moderate content and enforce the Terms of Service.
  • Improve Platform functionality and detect fraud or abuse.

4. Identity Badge Data

Where a vendor submits identity or ownership attestations (for example, veteran-owned or minority-owned status) for badge display, that attestation is stored and displayed as self-reported information. We do not currently collect or store verification documentation for these claims. If a formal verification process is introduced in a later phase, this Policy will be updated to describe what supporting documentation is collected and how it is handled.

5. SMS and Email Communications

Where the Platform offers SMS or email distribution (including event and newsletter features), we collect phone numbers and email addresses only with your affirmative opt-in consent. You may opt out of marketing SMS or email at any time using the unsubscribe instructions provided in each message. Opting out of marketing communications does not affect transactional messages related to your account or vendor listing.

6. How We Share Information

  • Service providers: our database and authentication provider, payment processor, SMS provider, and email platform, each acting under their own data protection terms.
  • Public listing display: vendor profile information, ratings, and reviews are visible to Platform visitors by design.
  • Legal and safety: where required by law, subpoena, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of THE FEMME Book, our users, or the public.
  • Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to standard confidentiality protections.

We do not sell personal information to third parties for their own marketing purposes.

7. Data Retention and Deletion

We retain account and listing data for as long as the account is active and for a reasonable period after closure to meet legal, accounting, and dispute-resolution needs. Reviews and other content that are soft-deleted (removed from public display) may be retained internally for moderation and audit purposes rather than immediately and permanently erased.

You may request deletion of your account by contacting us. We will honor deletion requests except where retention is required by law or necessary to resolve an open dispute.

8. Data Security

We use commercially reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information, including access controls on our database infrastructure. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Children's Privacy

The Platform is not directed to individuals under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we learn a child has provided personal information, we will delete it.

10. Your Rights and Choices

  • Access and correction: you may review and update your account and listing information directly through your account settings.
  • Marketing opt-out: available at any time through unsubscribe links or by contacting us.
  • Deletion requests: see Section 7.

Residents of states with dedicated privacy statutes may have additional rights under those laws. This Policy will be updated with jurisdiction-specific disclosures as the Platform expands beyond Texas.

11. Governing Law

This Policy is governed by the laws of the State of Texas, consistent with THE FEMME Book Terms of Service.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the Platform or by email. Continued use of the Platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.

13. Contact

Questions about this Policy or requests regarding your information can be directed to support@thefemmebook.com
